19th Century Baseballs
Each individual ball is a replica of the official baseball used during that time period. Each has been reproduced in construction, weight and color according to the original specs of the 19th Century. The historical timeline of baseball's firsts encircle the metal tin. In use before the introduction of the fielder's glove, each is built the same as today's ball, but the yarn is wrapped looser to give a softer touch. The 1850 ball weighs 5 oz., the 1860 weighs 5.5 oz. and the 1870 weighs 5.4 oz. Vegetable tanned cowhide leather.
