Revolutionary War Naval Cannon
1:12 Scale
In vast contrast to the British Royal Navy, the American colonists had no navy at all. During the course of the war, American privateers seized hundreds of British vessels, including war ships that were undoubtedly equipped with 12# cannons along several gun decks. Each cannon required a crew of several men to load and ignite the cannon, with additional men to handle the ropes from the recoil and to get the cannon repositioned for the next firing. To witness all of the guns on one side of the ship firing in unison would have been quite a sight, if you were fortunate enough to survive it. With great attention to detail, this 1:12 scale replica features a 10" elevating barrel, wooden trunk carriage with rotating wheels and real rope breaching including pulleys and chains. Barrel and fittings are cast in zinc. Measures 11" x 4-1/2" x 4-3/4". Weighs 2 lbs. 5 oz. Ideal for home or office and the perfect gift for a military armament enthusiast.
