1970 Boss 429 Mustang
There were only 499 Boss 429 Mustangs produced by Ford Motor Company in 1970. A total of 1,358 were produced between 1969 and 1970, making the Boss (referred to as The Boss 9 by muscle car enthusiasts) one of the most rare and valuable cars that ever rolled off of the Dearborn, MI assembly line. These cars are highly sought after today. If you have one in your backyard, barn or garage, you are sitting on a mint. Original cost was around $5,000 and it featured a tremendous 429 cubic inch 7.0 L engine that used a single Holley 4-barrel carburetor, a mechanical lifter camshaft, dual exhaust system, manual transmission and the largest hood scoop ever installed on a factory produced Mustang. A Hurst shifter was standard to the 1970 Boss 9.
This 1:18 scale model is shown in Raven Black with a detailed black interior that includes bucket seats and instrument panel and console. This die-cast model has functional front wheels, doors and hood. Magnum 500 wheels. This is an adult collectible and not recommended for children under 14. Plastic parts. Measures 10-5/8" x 4" x 2-3/4". Weighs 1 lb. 13.9 oz.
