1:18 Die Cast Model Cars
Americans love classic cars! If you have ever watched on TV one of the several premiere auto auctions held throughout the country got a good picture of just how much we love our old cars. Incredible restorations lead to unbelievable prices. I'm afraid if I owned one, I'd never give it up.
We have chosen three cars with significant anniversaries in 2016. Each is precision die cast metal at 1:18 scale with functional wheels and doors, hoods and trunks that open, detailed interiors and wheel rims. Includes plastic parts. This is an adult collectible, not recommend for children under 14.
This T-Bird outsold Corvettes in that year 4 to 1. It had an all new 312 CID V-8 engine, standard convertible top and continental spare. It was Ford's best Bird ever. In stunning metallic blue, this model has gleaming chrome aftermarket wheels, 4-wheel disc brakes and a beautifully finished engine compartment. Black interior. Measures 10" x 3-7/8" x 3-1/8".
1956 Chevy Bel Air Convertible
Considered 2nd Generation, the "hot car" got hotter in 1956 with a full-width grille, jet-plane hood ornament, classier lines with flashier chrome and more V-8 power than ever before. This model of that classic is crocus yellow and white with navy blue and white interior. Measures 11" x 3-7/8" x 3-1/4".
1961 Corvette Mako Shark
An outrageously designed Concept Car - the only car of its kind - it was tremendous success on the auto show circuit. The 1961 was never produced but became the basis for the legendary C2 line of Corvettes that were produced from 1963-1967. The body styling and color scheme were based on an actual Mako shark. Authentically detailed down to the chromed exhausts and super charged 327 cid V-8 engine. This model has a removable double bubble top. Measures 10-1/2" long x 3-7/8" x 3".
