Barnstormer Propellers
The heyday of barnstorming took place in the early 1920s when returning WWI servicemen were able to purchase Curtiss JN-4s (Jennys) inexpensively and by using farmer's fields as temporary runways, stage aerial shows and offer airplane rides to customers. These daredevils also performed the mundane tasks of carrying mail or smuggling. By the late 1920s, due to a lack of available Jennys and because of highly publicized accidents that resulted in new safety standards, it became too difficult for many barnstormers to continue to make a living and the activity slowly declined. The Barnstormer's antics created the first major form of civil aviation in the history of flight and earned their spot in aeronautical history.
Each of these three propellers are built from pine wood with a French Distressed Honey Finish. Includes a hardware bracket for hanging from the center hub. Measures 47" x 5" and weighs 2 lb. 10 oz.
