Browning Visual Effects with Blue Mammoth Tooth
Limited to Available Handle Material
Browning® has just introduced a new folder, which they call Visual Effects. It has handle scales of Wooly Mammoth Tusk which has been cut across the grain of the tusk, dyed in tans and browns and all the cracks filled with black resin, stabilizing what would otherwise be an unusable, brittle and cracked piece of material. This version, being offered first to members of the Knife Collector's Club™, is the most limited. The sides of Mammoth Tooth have been stabilized with the voids filled with a dark, almost black resin and the tooth itself has been dyed blue to create striking deep blue handle scales.
The mammoth tooth used on these knives has lain in the ground for tens of thousands of years and has picked up the minerals from that area. Because of this and the patterns in the tooth each handle scale will look different.
The 3-7⁄8" drop point blade is mirror polished 440C stainless at 58-60 Rc. The bolsters are mirror-polished nickel silver and the liners are stainless. A dual thumbstud allows ambidextrous deployment of the blade. Locks with a liner style lock and includes a tip down pocket clip for right-handed carry. Measures 4-7⁄8" closed. Weighs 4.4 oz. Made in Italy.
