Gerstner Toolmakers Chest
Gerstner & Sons, established in 1906 and creators of fine wooden chests and cases from their inception, are in 2017 reintroducing the Toolmakers Chest that was made from 1914 to 1919. Those early chests had an imitation leather cover and were built for the toolmaker who expected to move his tools from one job to another. Like the original, this case is built to last a lifetime. The impeccable quality with meticulous attention to detail is exactly what you would expect from this exceptional company.
The new chest is constructed of solid quarter-sewn white oak, hand-fitted parts, leather handle, polished nickel silver hardware and self-hinging drawer door with lock. The overall size is 15-1/2" deep x 11-1/2" tall x 8" wide. There is plenty of room in the six drawers for longer tools, knives or other collectibles. The felt lined drawer dimensions are 6-1/4" x 13-1/8", with each drawer depth measuring from 3/4" (top) to to 2-1/2" (bottom). Stained a Golden Oak with a hand-rubbed lacquer finish. Weighs 16 lbs. With craftsmanship that is second to none, like the cases before it, this is sure to become a family heirloom. Proudly made in the U.S.A.
