Product Details

Living in diverse habitats that include mountains, forests, grasslands and deserts, the fox adapts well to human environments. Their resourcefulness has earned them a reputation for being cunning and intelligent. They can retract their claws like cats, run 30 mph, have incredible hearing, swim, jump up to 3' high, and their tails are over half their body length. They are pure fun to watch. This carving shows the fox with its front legs perched on a tree stump. You can almost feel the intensity of its stare.

Hand carved in great detail from a solid piece of one of the most beautiful hardwoods in the world - what we know as Desert Ironwood (Olneya Tesota). The wood is gathered from naturally fallen trees, and through long hours of hand carving, sanding and polishing, the beautiful burl and distinctive grain inherent to Ironwood appears. Polish with a soft cloth and occasionally apply a light coat of neutral paste-type shoe wax. Measures 6-3/4" x 3-1/4" x 9-1/4" tall. Weighs approximately 2 lbs. 3.7 oz. Each carving is unique, so size and weight will vary slightly. Hand carved in Mexico. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
