Scrimed Soaring Eagle Zippo Lighter
Zippo® Lighters are recognized worldwide and are often handed down as family heirlooms. They were first produced in 1933, and through the years have become highly collectible.
The artist who embellished this lighter used a man-made material specifically created to closely resemble the color and finish of genuine ivory for the onlaid pieces. Using the same skill that original scrimshaw “shanters” used 200 years ago on ivory and bone, the original image was scrimed by hand. A silicone mold was then made of that hand-engraved original. Each onlay was cast using polyethylene as the resin, sanded to a specific thickness, and the art filled with ink and hand-rubbed to a high polish. These hand-detailing techniques result in a finished piece that rivals the beauty of traditional scrimshaw.
This patriotic lighter has a Soaring Eagle on the lid and the Eagle Eye on the case. Measures 2-1/4" x 1-1/2" x 1/2". Stainless steel and resin. Lighters do NOT ship with fuel. Lighter and onlays are all made in the U.S.A.
