Globes of this size have been found in classrooms across this country for generations. Sometimes the oceans on those globes were black, like the Orion which we have sold for many years (still available). Sometimes the oceans were an antique parchment color. Each country is always presented in a different color making it easier for their boundries to be identified and for us to learn to identify the shape of each country as it appears on a globe. One of the features of most tabletop globes being produced today is interior illumination which further enhances those colors and provides enough light for safety illumination in a room.
This 12" diameter vinyl globe rests in a die cast semi-meridian and is mounted on a handsome 6" x 6" walnut finished base. The surface is presented in raised relief to illustrate the mountains of the world. If you have a fascination with geography, or have a child or grandchild to teach, these globes are the best you can buy. Requires a 15 watt bulb (included). Made in the U.S.A.
