Wooden Peregrine Falcon
This bird of prey is often referred to as the duck hawk in North America. With a bluish-gray back, barred white underparts and a black head, it is known for its high-speed dive which can reach up to 200 mph. Breeding range includes land areas from the Arctic tundra to the tropics and it can be found everywhere on earth except extreme polar regions, very high mountains and most tropical rainforests, making it the world's most widespread raptor. It mates for life and normally builds nests on cliff edges.
The falcon is hand carved from Albesia Falcata, a sustainable softwood, and hand painted in great detail to replicate the active bird of prey. Perched on a base of coffee wood, it appears the bird is ready to take flight. The bird measures 10-1/2" long x 5-1/2" wide x 3" deep (from tip of the tail to top of the head). Keep out of direct sunlight and to clean, simply dry dust. Overall length is 11-3/4". Weighs 1 lb. 10.9 oz. Made in Indonesia.
