Battle Ready is another superb portrayal of an Eastern Woodlands Indian by Southwest Missouri artist Doug Hall. This masterpiece features a warrior with his hand on his powder horn and his eye on his opponent. Cherokees were masters of guerrilla warfare and had perfected it generations before the Europeans arrived in North America.
Doug grew up in Southwest Missouri, where he still lives surrounded by the Huckleberry State Forest. A fascination for the history and culture of the native peoples of the Eastern Woodlands has led to many hours studying their daily routines, dress and living arrangements. The effect of his dedication to the subject is evident in his paintings of their everyday lives and the many awards he has received. The stretched Giclee' canvas print measures 35-3/4" x 26-3/4". Each is signed by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
