This dishwasher safe knife block was developed over twenty years ago out of concern about the germs that build up wooden knife blocks. This one comes apart and goes into your dishwasher. In September 2012, it caught the attention of the producers of the TV show, The Doctors, and was featured in an episode as one way to reduce germs in your kitchen.
Each block will accommodate one cleaver or Chinese chef's knife, five kitchen or butcher knives,three chef's knives, one sharpening steel, eight steak knives, two paring knives and one 6" x 8" cutting board (included). The block is hollow which means there is no way for debris and bacteria to accumulate inside the knife block and come in contact with knife blades. The knives rest flat on their sides instead of on the edges against the block.
Molded of high density ABS that will not crack, chip or shatter. A handsome ivory white color will grace any kitchen decor. Dishwasher safe; simply remove the bottom and put in the dishwasher. Made in the U.S.A.
