Beauty Parlor - Cape Buffalo
25 Piece Limited Edition Giclee' on Canvas
by Michael Sieve
A Cape Buffalo needs to drink every day, so herds are often found close to water. It is common for them to share the water hole with other large game animals including a family of elephants. The artist has captured a moment in time when both elephant and buffalo co-exist in peace when they stop for a drink and a bath.
Known as one of the "Big Five", or "Black Death" in Africa, the Cape Buffalo is widely regarded as the most dangerous animal in Africa. Over 200 people are gored and killed by Cape Buffalo each year. One of the largest grazers on the Savannah, there are few predators that dare to approach a full-grown buffalo, let alone hunt them. Known for its distinctive horns, it is a prize trophy for big game hunters. Its status as "Black Death" is attributed to its tenacity and ornery personality when wounded.
The original oil painting has been reproduced in a very limited 25 piece premier edition of giclee' on canvas prints. Each is hand Signed and Numbered by the Artist. The image size is 24" x 39". Measures 31" x 46" framed including the 3-1/2" wide brushed bronze frame molding. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
