Combat Stories from America's Last WWII Veterans Told Through an M1 Garand
Written by a U.S. Marine, a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, this book is a culmination of approximately 200 interviews of WWII veterans over 2017 and 2018. These stories were written to motivate young veterans to live successful lives after combat, with a portion of proceeds going to support severely wounded veterans and their families. Twenty chapters, each belonging to a combat veteran, recall memories of personal experiences 75 years after the events occurred. Every effort was made to verify details, but the veterans ranged in age from 92 to 101 years old, so some details have been lost to the passing of time. You will learn what it was like to fight for freedom in various theaters of WWII, the obstacles that were faced upon their homecoming and the importance of memory and respect to the veteran's community.
Hardcover. 294 pages. B/W photos of the interviewees with the rifle. A must read for anyone interested in the service and sacrifices of our veterans.

Back to the Battlefield
From every background and caliber through many battlegrounds, this book contains never before told stories of WWII combat veterans. Listening to the veteran's recollection of the story, corroborating it with historical documents and, if so lucky, getting another survivor's account of the same story took several years for the author to compile, all while collecting 300 signatures on the 1945 M1 Garand rifle. Hardcover. 305 pages. 21 chapters. Pages 259-295 show a listing of each warrior with his military affiliation, unit and medals earned. Amazing stories from our Greatest Generation.
