CRKT Woods Chogan T-Hawk
Ryan Johnson has been designing and making tactical tomahawks for more than 24 years. In 2013, he collaborated with CRKT to produce the Chogan T-Hawk, an aggressive entry ax which has been a very popular item for CRKT. The Woods Chogan is Ryan's variation conceived for those of us who need an everyday using ax. It was designed for cutting limbs or saplings, splitting kindling and other tasks one might encounter in a hunting camp or living off the grid.
The head is hot forged from a single piece of 1055 carbon steel (not stainless) at 50-55 Rc., creating a solid head with a hammer finish. The primary and secondary edge bevels are flat ground to cut through timber. The hammer head is useful for pounding in nails or tent stakes. The thick Tennessee hickory handle is comfortable in the hand and sealed with a lacquer coat that adds durability. Measures 19-1/8" overall with a 3-1/2" cutting edge. Weighs 2 lbs. 1.4 oz.
