Ron Lake Designed Tail Lock Interframe Folders
Very Limited Production.
Ron Lake and I have been friends for almost 40 years. From the time I met him, his knives have been remarkable. Ron left the traditional locking knife behind and launched into new territory from his first folder, developing features like the tail lock and the interframe. In recent years his designs have been produced by Schrade, Gerber and Columbia River Knife & Tool. Recently he has also worked with one of the finest knife producers in China to make limited runs of some of his traditional patterns. A year or so ago, we sold one of those models which was both a tail lock and an interframe. That knife was well received by A. G. Russell™ customers.
At the 2009 S.H.O.T. Show in January, I was shown a new model that was proposed with both Mother-of-Pearl and Jigged Stag Antler. The quality was superb and we immediately made arrangements to purchase the limited 2009 production.
This model is a true Lake classic. This version has a 2-1/4" drop point satin finish blade of 12C27 stainless at 57-60 Rc. and stainless bolsters. The fit and finish is impeccable. Measures 3" closed and weighs approximately 2 oz. Includes a handsome black leather pouch.
Ron has to be very pleased with the quality. Either knife will make a great addition to your collection.
