You can listen to Hams, long-range aviation (commercial and military), maritime, space and even spy transmissions from all over the world. With the addition of the Single Side Band (SSB), you can receive long-range information without Internet or Satellite. In an emergency, when virtually all normal communications are down, Ham radio operators play a critical role in relaying and providing information. This is information that is not available on smartphones. Includes standard AM/FM/NOAA weather alert, shortwave, scannable VHF aviation band and SSB. An easy-to-read display includes a battery icon/charge indicator. Includes memory preset buttons 0-9, built-in antenna, earphone jack and USB Power/Charging Jack. Also includes a 23´ shortwave reel antenna, ear buds and a black imitation leather carry case. A very detailed instruction manual is included. Runs approximately 70 hours on 2 AA batteries (not included). An AC power adapter is available separately. Black case measures 4-3/4" x 1-1/8" x 2-5/8" and with radio weighs 9.0 oz. including batteries. Loads of fun and adventure in a very small package.
