Slippery Rocks Falls
by Doug Hall
Limited to 100 Giclee on Canvas Prints
A trip down Slippery Rocks Falls is a trecherous endeavor, but provides cover for an unannounced ambush and an escape route with no trail. Doug Hall's has captured this moment in time in his painting Slippery Rocks Falls. Two highly painted Cherokee warriors carefully make their way down stream over the rocks with booty in hand. Doug Hall grew up in Southwest Missouri and has painted as long as he can remember. He has spent a great deal of time studying the history and culture of the native peoples of the Eastern Woodlands and has won many awards for his paintings of their everyday lives. The effect of his dedication to the subject is evident in his paintings. Past recognition includes the George Phippen Memorial Fine Art Award, Prescott, Arizona, 2002; First place in oils, Sedona, Arizona, 2003; Artists' Choice and the H.E. Williams Award, Midwest Gathering of the Artists, 2004; and Best of Show, Stillwater, Oklahoma, 2005.
